Infectious Diseases

General biology, as well as the causative agent, susceptible species, clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment and control of the following infectious diseases are discussed: Psittacine Proventricular Dilatation Syndrome (Macaw Wasting Disease), Herpesvirus, Pox, Polyomavirus, Pacheco's Parrot Disease, Avian Viral Serositis, Papillomatosis Disease and Newcastle's Disease (VVND) are detailed.
Polyomavirus and Pacheco's Virus out break protocols are provided for both the breeding aviary and the nursery.
Bacterial diseases including gram negative and positive bacteria, Sunken Eye Syndrome, and Chlamydiosis
Injection techniques for birds; Intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intrasinus are discussed.
Fungal diseases including aspergillosis, candidiasis and less common fungal diseases.
Parasitic Diseases including external and internal parasites and their treatment are discussed.
